Gluten is a protein commonly found in wheat, rye and barley. While most people digest gluten without issue, people who suffer from celiac disease do not, thus must turn to gluten-free foods. Waffles typically contain gluten, but you can make them without it and maintain the same taste. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
- 1
Beat the egg, water, canola oil and honey together in a bowl.
2Add the baking mix to the liquid ingredients and beat or whisk until well-blended.
3Pour onto a hot waffle iron and bake until the steaming stops and the waffle is golden brown.
4Cut up the strawberries, put them in a saucepan and add the sugar.
5Cook on a medium-high heat for five minutes, stirring occasionally.
6Assemble the waffles with the strawberry topping, sliced bananas and maple syrup. You can substitute the strawberries and bananas with your favorite toppings.
